The solid state alpha meter from asea brown boveri limited (abb) is a totally electronic polyphase electricity meter and an integral register that collects, processes and stores energy use and demand data on a time-of-the-day (tod) or demand basis specially designed for industrial and commercial utility for both ht and lt applications. The alpha meter lcd provides detailed information to the user, including six digits for display of metered quantities and constants. Three digits of numeric identifiers, alpha identifiers, potential identification for each phase, directional pulse indicators, end of interval indication. It can be programmed to scroll through the sequence of programmed display items in any sequence desired & its unique three digit identifiers can also be programmed for each displayed item and for additional benefit the display hold time is also programmable. The pulse indicators can be used for meter accuracy testing, using standard laboratory equipment with reflective pickup scanners.
